Question: Hows an IUD work!? Does it cause an abortion!.!?
I've asked multiple dr's how it works, and they always tell me they don't really know!. How can they NOT know!? It's a bc device that's been around forever!. How can they not know how the thing works!?

Report the doctors or make a protest site!. These people should NOT be practising!.
An IUD is a device that is prevents pregnancy in laymen terms!.
It is not an abortion!.
Pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants itself in the uterus!. Implantation can only occur if the uterus is ready!. The walls normally thicken during ovulation for this to occur!.
With the device implanted, the walls will not thicken(called the endometrium), and instead release leukocytes and prostaglandins(specific ones) as a secondary defense!.
Basically, the uterus is prepared for a pathogen attack and not implantation, so you are forcing a normal operation mode of the uterus instead for ovulation mode!.
There is a risk of permanent infertility with this, as you may not be able to implant the egg, ever and thus never become pregnant and would need a surrogate with your egg and the fathers sperm!. Pretty scary huh!.
The risk / choice is up to you!.
Again, report those doctor to the certification board and make you didnt get charged any money for non-advice!.

An IUD prevents a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine wall!. Its not necessarily causing an abortion, but it does not prevent the egg from becoming fertilized, it just won't let it grow!. An IUC is similar except it releases hormones similar to birth control!. If the doctors you are seeing don't know how they work then you need to find another doctor!.!.find a good Ob/Gyn!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
From what I understand, via my gynocologist, no one is really how an IUD works but one theory is that the material the IUD is made of makes the uterus inhospitable to an egg!. So, an egg will not implant if it is fertilized!. Some IUDs do emit release progestin which will also prevent pregnancy!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
