The man at the laboratory told me that i have uti( urinary tract infection) i dont know how to tell my mom i need to see a doctor!.please give me more info on UTI,is it a std!? the man at the lab didnt give me any info so can u plz!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not an std although you can get it from having sex!. If you do not pee before and after (especially after), then sex can cause you to get a uti!. You need to go to a doctor for this to get on antibiotics before it spreads!. If it spreads to your kidneys, it can destroy your kidneys!. If you're in a lot of pain right now, there's an over the counter drug to help with uti pain (like tylenol for your bladder)!. It's made by Azo!. Just find this brand and look for uti pain reliever or something like that!. But beware, it'll turn your pee fluorescent orange and stain your toilet rim!. Also, my doctors had a hard time testing for a uti when I was on those pain pills!. So, if you can hold off on the pain relievers, then don't take them until after they diagnose your uti!. And by then, they usually prescribe you a uti pain reliever!. Get to the doctors for some antibiotics asap (or else the pain'll get worse and the infection will spread)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It is NOT an STD and there are many ways to get a UTI!. You CAN get a UTI from having intercourse, but you can also get it from taking a bath (the soap gets up in there and causes an infection), you can get it from a new brand of body soap, from not drinking enough water!.

a urinary tract infection can be caused by a bunch of things!. you could have held a full bladder too long!.!. that could cause an infection!. You could have gotten it from a pool or the ocean or a lake if you went swimming!.!. you could have gotten it from a number of things, not necessarily sex related!. you need to get on antibiotics though so tell your mother!. it'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well I work in the hospital as a trained Professional, do this first go to http://www!.webmd!.com and use the symptom checker and see what are the possibilities if something seems dire please seek medical attention even if you get in trouble ( better than dying)!. I am not an expert on the subject but a UTI is not ALWAYS from an std!. It can be, but it doesn't have to be!. And even if you are having sex, your Dr!. can't tell your mom!. You are probably worrying for nothing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
