I am 14 and it seems like i should have gotten my period by now!. i have all the "qualifications" i guess you could say (i!.e discharge for a year, pube and armpit hair, boobs, etc!.)!.

I remember that feeling, like everyone else was different and that you because you hadn't started periods you were deformed!. This isn't the case, you still have a lot of time to develop and some people develop a lot later than you!. When your periods do come you will wonder why you ever wanted them in the first place, though I know that doesn't help now!. If you are still really worried and nothing helps go and see your doctor for reassurance!. Hope this helps

Hon, don't worry!. Masturbation cannot stop periods from happening!. Your period will come when mother nature intends it to and there is really nothing you can do to change that fact!. It sounds like you are definitely getting closer to it though with all the signs of puberty you already have!. You are a late bloomer, or to be more precise - late onset menarche!. Some girls do not have their first period until as late as age 16!. The fact that you have breast development is a good thing, this means your body is making the right hormones (estorgens) from your ovaries!. Masturbation does not effect your development!. No it doesn't have to do anything with masturbating!.!. You usually will start around the same time that your mom did!. But sweetie i'm 14 and i rushed things just like you're doing!. (started when i was 11) When you do start just be prepared to suffer!.!. If i were you i wouldn't rush it at all because you're going to hate it when you get it!.
