Does this sound like PMDD? ?!

Question: Does this sound like PMDD!? !?
My boyfriend and I raise his 16 year old sister!. He's away on Business a lot, so most of it is just me!.

It's like she's going through a never ending cycle!. At first she'll be fine for like a week and a half and then she'll be sad, like everything makes her cry!. It's like Switch is turned on or something!. Then she will go through a few days where everything makes her mad she'll be real quiet!. It's like she's a different person!. Then she will be moody for a few more days and then it's like she's back to normal!.

She's been this way since she was about 13!. Lately, it's gotten worse!. I just thought it was her being a teenager!.

I don't know much about this stuff and a friend told me it could be pmdd and that I should get her on Yazz!. Does this sound like pmdd!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

PMDD occurs in women usually about 1-2 weeks before her menstrual cycle!. Symptoms include depression, tension, mood swings, irritability, decreased interest, difficulty in concentrating, fatigue, changes in appetite or sleep, physical symptoms, and a sense of being overwhelmed!. It sounds like she might have most of these symptoms but i would take her to a doctor and explain whats happening!. If she gets like this i would write down the days and describe how she acts and give it to your doctor to see if there is a pattern!. this will help alot with a diagnosis!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like PMDD!. I know because I suffer from it!. Just consult the doc to confirm!. Yaz is good!. I use it and it makes me feel much better!. When u first start Yaz she'll feel indifferent for a bit, but afterwards she'll be happy and be able to manage her emotions instead of her emotions managing her!.

Also, the symptoms of PMDD usually come between 14 days to 10 days before the period!.

I hope this helps you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Check out this website: http://pmdd!.factsforhealth!.org/have/howd!.!.!.

That's a link to their "screening," and gives you requirements for diagnosis!.

To me, it really sounds like it's just teenage hormones and mood swings!. It might be a good idea to get her on birth control just to regulate her periods and hopefully cut down a bit of the hormone surge that makes us all a little grumpy!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be PMDD or it could be her being 16 or it could be something like depression!. It could never hurt to try Yaz and see if that helps but if you do not see improvement then you should think about counseling!. Sometimes I just needed someone other than my parents or sisters to talk to when I was that age!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

yea, get her to a gyno n have her examined quick! n yes putting her on a bcp(birth control pill) should help, if not an anti-depressant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

PMS!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

She is a teenager! There could be a few signs of PMDD, but I doubt that is what is causing personality changes so frequently!. Its becoming more and more common for people to develop mental disorders such as bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, manic episodes at younger ages!. My friends 10 year old was just diagnosed with schizophrenia!. I would talk to her and find out what she thinks triggers outbursts or what makes her angry!. It could be something that is eating away at her inside and she doesn't know how to deal with it!. Also, is there a positive female role model around for her to talk to when she needs to!? And don't put a girl on birth control because you want her to be on it, she has to want to be on it as well!. She'll resent you for thinking she is a whore and at that age could encourage unsafe sexual behavior because if you think she is a whore, she might as well be one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
