Question: Ladies Only !.!.!.!. What was your worst pap smear moment!?
I had a horribly painful pap smear today that has left me feeling really shaky and vulnerable!. It hurt terribly, so much that I was yelling in pain!. After two attempts, the doctor didn't even get a sample and now I have to go back to him and try again!. I have been crying for about 4 hours, bleeding like mad, and I just need to hear that I'm not alone!. Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok well, my worst pap smear moment was the first time i went to get one!.
cervical cancer runs in my family so i wanted to get checked to be safe and just to make sure nothing strange is going on down there!. so i was a virgin at the time and the scapula (sp!?) the thing that opens your vagina, was way too big, so my doctor had to run around the office trying to find a smaller one!. and i hear her knocking on all the doors asking if the other doctors had a "virginal scapula" i was so embarrassed at that!.
then when she did find one it took her 10 mins to get the thing to stay in place, cause it turned out being too small!. (UGH!!!)
then when she started to scrape i kept moving cause it did hurt a little bit and the scapula came out again!
it was like that for every side of the wall she scraped haha!. lets just say i went to another doctor after that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Um, I'm not a doctor but I'm pretty sure that's not what happens during a pap smear!. I have never had a bad experience, they are quick, and painless!.
If you were scared to begin with and were very very upset and tense, you most likely constricted your vagina and they tried shoving the speculum through your muscle tension!. They should have told you to relax!.
The fact that you are bleeding after that experience only tells me that where you got it done, was in no way a professional office, and you should not go back to that doctor!. I would find a new gynecologist, asap!.
Since you were bleeding was it possible he broke your hymen trying to get that speculum in!? He sounds like he used excess force that was absolutely not necessary!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

when i had a pelvic infection they didn't even try to the dr was so mean that because my temp was 98!.6 which for me is 102!. my norm temp is 95!.6 after they figured out that i was really sick they started treating me like i was a human being!.they had to stick a needle into my cervic to get a sample of what was behind my cervics they also had to find a smaller spectum because i am a small womenWww@Answer-Health@Com
That seems a little strange-the bleeding can be normal if you have a friable (sensitive) cervix however you shouldn't have been screaming!. Was it your 1st time!? Also the more you can relax ( I know that's not easy) the easier and faster it will go-just take long deep breaths and then it's over!. Maybe you should try another doctor-could be yours is just too rough!?!?!? Www@Answer-Health@Com
NO offense, but your doctor is a man!? Get a woman, and a younger one!. She has the pateince and she's more sympathetic!. Do it, even if he i your family doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
