Too long between periods?!

Question: Too long between periods!?
I got my first period in May of 2007, so I've had my period for 18 months now!. Sometimes it's kind of heavy, but usually it's pretty normal!.

The thing is, I don't get it every month!. I know that it takes a couple of years for periods to become regular, but my periods aren't really irregular!. They're just really far apart!.

I got worried a couple of months after my first period, because my second didn't come!. So from then on I started recording when they came!. And I've found that my cycles last for about 5 days, but there is always 10 to 12 weeks between the cycles!. I don't mind, because it means a lot less work, but it doesn't feel normal to sometimes have a period and then not have another one for 3 months!. I'm getting really worried and I don't know what's wrong!. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them!? I wouldn't mind talking to a doctor, but my new doctor makes me really uncomfortable!. He's a creepy old guy and I've only seen him twice, but both times he had this bored, impatient way of doing things!. He had an abrupt manner, like he just wanted me to hurry up and get out of there!. There's no way I would feel comfortable talking to him, and I'd be embarrassed to talk to my mom too!.!. That's why I wanted to ask on here to see if any of you could help me!. I'd appreciate any advice, explanation or thoughts!. Thank you!. <3

I also have this problem!. I have had my period since i was like 14, but I am now 21!. I enjoy not always having my period, but I too worry about it!. You may want to check with your mom or your other female family members to find out if it is genetic!. My mother and my sister both face the same problem that I have!. I have been nervous to go to a doctor, but I will be going soon!. When I do go, I will try to keep you posted as to what I have!. My sister, who is 22, went to the doctors and she had a problem with her uterus!. So find a doctor that specializes in the area, that you are completely comfortable with and get checked out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
