There is nothing to be scared of!. Tampons are just another way to deal with your periods!.

Since you are young, you might find them a bit uncomfortable, but you might also like them better!. You should ask your Mom to get you some smaller ones meant for younger girls, to start with!.

Some things I like about tampons are that they feel cleaner, since the blood stays inside you!. They're also the choice for any time you want to go swimming when you're on your period, since pads won't work if they get wet!. One major con is that they can sometimes leak, which is why at first you should wear a thin pad, until you are comfortable with the size and brand of tampon you choose!. Some women find them uncomfortable, and I am one of those - they make the inside of my vagina sore - but others don't have that issue!. And they do carry a small risk of toxic shock syndrome, but this only occurs in women who wear their tampons for longer than the recommended 8 hours!.

Pads are good because they can be more comfortable for some!. They are quicker to change, and they don't have a risk of toxic shock syndrome!. Also, women who are concerned about the environment can get reusable cloth ones (which you can't do with tampons)!. Some cons are that they are a bit messier, by nature, and they feel a bit bulky!. They restrict your choice of underwear - they don't work well with thongs, etc!. They can also leak, although I think that happens less than with tampons!.

In a box of tampons, there are some explicit instructions with diagrams and everything, which will help you figure out how to use them!. Take your time and if you feel too uncomfortable, then just stick with pads for now!. Neither is better than the other, remember that - it's just personal choice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tampons are a good option for heavy bleeding, but they can be uncomfortable!. If you don't bleed enough, they won't absorb enough and it can be a little painful to remove them!. Pads are simply worn on the underwear and depending on the size can offer a lot of cover, but they can also be bulky and when sleeping they can move, unlike tampons which just stay in place!.

There is also a slight risk of something called Toxic Shock from using tampons, but the probability of getting it is very low!. If you try it and you start to feel sick and/or dizzy, remove the tampon immediately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Being a women and having a period may not be the most prettiest thing ever but it's natural it happens to every women!. It's normal to feel scared about trying a tampon on for the first time!. But just read the intrustions and you should get use to it!. Here are some postives about having your period!.
