Question: What type of doctor do I need to see!?
I want to have breast reduction surgery- to avoid having back surgery later!. I have health coverage through Anthem, but there are several conditions that have to met met to get this procedure covered!. What type of doctor should I see first to get the ball rolling!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Blondie is right - start with your PCM and then you'll probably be referred out to a plastic surgeon for an assessment!. The doctors will have to coordinate regarding your "need" (medical complaints directly related to your breast size) and then it'll be a waiting game to see if your insurance company will pick up the tab!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
As far as i know the insurance company will make you go on a diet and see if you can loose fatty tissue in your breast without surgery, so they will send you to nutritionist and cover it!. If you loose weight and your breasts still are considerably large they will send you to a plastic surgeon for a consultation to decide whether or not you qualify!. ok you definatly would not see an opthamologist to get brest reduction surgery!.!.!. because that is an eye doctor, you need to speak with your gyno and see if they think it is a good idea, and then they will recommend a plastic surgeon in your area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Usually, you have to go through your primary care physician!. They have to do a referral before the ins!. pays!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
