Trust me, they'll let you wear underwear if your having a spine op!. afterall!. the op is on your spine, not ur nether region!. Besides they have totally seen it all!. It doesnt even matter if theyre guys, or girls - they wont even bat an eyelid!. Put down a matt to soak it up but they won't even mention it when you wake up so what you don't know won't hurt you ;)

good luck with the op n dont worry! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can try using a tampon as well as a sanitary towel - that is hoping they let you wear pants!. Or you could try a mooncup, they are like tampons, but they hold the blood instead of absorb it and you can keep it in for much longer (I use one, they are brilliant)!. Google it!. Or you could go on the pill and just take them for a week longer then usual so you don't have a period in the first place!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your period is due or has arrived when your operation is scheduled, just tell the nurses, they will provide you with what you need!. A pair of stretchy net panties and pads!.
I have had surgery 4 times this year and for 2 of them had my period the first one was having my right ovary removed and I wore a tampon, told them about it and when I woke up they had removed the tampon and replaced it with a pad, same thing when I had open heart surgery in March!.!. It's no biggie to them they have seen a lot grosser the cath doesn't go where menstrual blood comes from!. It goes into the urethra under your clitoris!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Plenty of female patients are menstruating during the time of their operation!. It's no big deal!.

The catheter won't change your blood flow since it is inserted in your urethra rather than your vagina!.

They will not allow you to wear underpants - just the hospital gown!.

THere is no need to refuse the operation based on having your period!. As someone mentioned earlier, we've seen it all

Best of luck with your surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The catheter doesn't go into your vagina so it wouldn't make the blood leak everywhere!. If you have your period and they notice, I'm sure the doctors have seen it before and they will just put a pad on you!. You shouldn't refuse the surgery over something like that! You'll be okay you just have anxiety for the surgery!. It normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A catheter goes in to the urethra, not your vagina, so, you could wear a tampon on the table!. don't get too concerned, these people are professionals, i'm sure they've seen worse

Then again, you're going to be on the table for a while,a nd there is a danger of TSS, so ask the nurse at pre-op, maybe they could switch the tampon during surgery, or they use a special tool for that stuff!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you know, a lot of pregnant women have BM's as they give birth, and the medical team is prepared for that!. it's the same with your problem!. they're prepared for stuff like that!. it's embarrassing, yes, but it might be something you have to deal with!. it's not like they sit aorund the water cooler joking about it later!. they're professionals, so quit worrying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because of all the stress you have there's a big chance your period wont even come! You might not be able to wear pants, but seriously just tell your doctor your worried about this and Im sure they will have a solution, and don't be embarrassed Im sure they have seen way worse!Www@Answer-Health@Com

im sure its happened before! its okay, doctors know girls have periods and they have seen plenty of blood before! i wouldn't be worried about that, i would worry about how do change your tampon after you just had spine surgery and you won't be able to bend over!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh
That happend to my friend but its ok they put down this special padded thingy on the op table and it was ok they didnt mind one bit and it helped that the 3 operators were girls!
best of luck for the op darling!.xWww@Answer-Health@Com

the catheter will collect the urine only!. you can use a jumbo pad that they will give you!. you won't go all over!. have your operation and you will be fine!. good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

wear what ever you girls wear to stop the bleeding!. also it wont be that weird because they will knock you out and you have no controll over your body so it probally happens often!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey
Good luck for your op and dont worri wear a heav pad and tell the nurse or doctor looking after you im sure thye have seen it all before!
Hope this helped!

I would probably laugh honestly!.!. sorry lol She's dying!!! Internal bleeding lol!Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry, im sure they have seen worse!! it will be fine!. just discuss it with the doc before hand to reassure you!. dont be embarassed to ask him/her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry doctors are prepared for the crimson tide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They're used to a bit of blood in operating theatres!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Surgeons have seen it all!. They will take care of things if it happens!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

The doctors won't care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tell the doctor u have ur period and they will do soemthing to fix the situationWww@Answer-Health@Com

Doctors have seen it ALL!. It's fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

omg omg omg, are you an idiot or what!? do you think there isn't going to be blood all over anyway!? silly girl they are going to cut you open!!!!
if your period comes, it's not a big deal!. to refuse necessary surgery because you cannot wear panties into the OR is just plain being an imbecile, panties carry germs you twit, you want an OR to be as sterile as possible!. go ahead and tell your doctor what you've said here, but be prepared for him to laugh right in your face for your foolish obsession!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would be careful!. If you get period blood on the operating tabe, they stop what they are doing and take you outside
