Hello scb_94,

Change your pad every 3 to 4 hours depending on the flow!. You may to change it more often if you have a heavy flow!.

If you use a tampon, you should also change it every 3 hours (at least that often depending again on your flow)!.

If you have bad cramps, take advil or motrin!. I find that works the best!. Also lay your stomach on a heating pad!. The two together can make a large difference in how soon your cramps leave!.

You change your pad between 3-4 hours depending on your flow!. I would recommend a pad for starters just because it will be easier while you are just getting used to your period!. Your period will last about 3-7 days depending on your body!. If you are experiencing cramps you can use a heating pad, take pain killers for them, exercise (believe it or not, it helps), taking a warm bath and I've heard bananas help!. Good luck and congratulations! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should change a pad every couple of hours at least, or sooner if you are feeling icky about it!. Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours!. If you leave them in any more than 8 hours they can cause TSS!. See the insert in the tampon box for more info about that, as well as how to use a tampon!. As for how long they will last, that depends on how heavy your period is!.
For the cramps, take some Midol, Pamprin, or even a regular pain releif aid like Tylenol or Advil!. Using a heating pad, or taking a hot bath will help also (just make sure to use a tampon)!. Excersice is also really good for cramps and will make them less severe, try going for a walk or something like that!.
Good luck, and congrats on becoming a woman!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well I'm 13 and started mine a few months ago and I always use a hot water bottle to help my cramps!. You should cycle with you legs in the air in between periods as well to get some relief!. You should change your pad every 3-4 hours if you have a regular flow or 1-2 hours if your like me! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Change it as many times as you go the bathroom!.!. It's more sanitary that way!.!. Also, i heard that midol works pretty good for cramps, maybe even a heating pad!!! Good Luck and welcome to womenhood!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should change your pad every 3-4 hrs it all depends on how heavy your flow is and as far as cramps eat a banana take 2 ibuprofen and put a warm towel on your uterus and you should be okWww@Answer-Health@Com
