Let's start fromt he beginning!. I was having cramps during last period science and it went on until I took a motrin at home!. I took a piss and guess what I see on my toilet paper!? a blood stain with an area of 3!.5 mm!. It was red, yes!. My underwear had a brownish tint, and when i observed (so sue me!) there was a reddish outline to them!.
I had a shower and bought some pads!.

Periods normally last about 4-6 days!. The pads should be tape-like on the bottom side!. place the pad in the middle of your underwear directly under your vagina!. Change pads every 2-3 hours!. You should buy different sized pads, they have big ones for when you first start your period (your period will be very heavy, meaning a lot of blood, for the first and second day), and it will gradually decrease in the amount of blood, making thinner pads more desirable!.
Cramps are normal and you will have to put up with them, but it'll all be over before you know it!. Go to sleep every night with a big pad, and change it right away when you wake up!. Pack some in your bookbag and change them in the bathroom between every few classes!.

Hey girl! The others have told you what you need to know!. I just want to encourage you to tell your mom!. I was scared to tell my mom too, and a little embarrassed, but you have to! You can't hide it from her forever, plus, your mom will start to think you haven't started your period yet and then she'll take you to the doctor, and it will be even more embarrassing!
