Sex and mononucleosis?!

Question: Sex and mononucleosis!?
My boyfriend and I both have mono--is it safe for us to have sex, considering the inflammation of the spleen that comes with mono!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hmm, that's interesting and I've not heard of inflammation of the spleen!.

Anyway, technically yes it's safe BUT it means that you're constantly re-infecting each other so you're not going to get better!. And mono attacks your energy reserves - you really need to take life very gently (like, stay in bed as much as possible) until you get over it!. It took me 2-3 months to get over mono when I had it, and that was after it was diagnosed - I'd already had it for a good month or so before then!.

You have to be careful with mono - if you don't rest and get yourself better, you could end up getting ME which is very serious and very hard to beat, if you even can (I'm not totally sure, but I know it's not good)!. You can also get mono coming back - some people get repeated bouts of mono because they haven't totally got over the first bout of it!. Maybe try cuddling instead - remember, kissing each other will only re-infect you!. Bad luck, hope you both get better soon :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com
