Hi Sara: I still wear pads and there's no reason that you can't also!. There's nothing wrong with wearing pads no matter what your friends may tell you!. Besides, 13 is much too young to wear tampons so at least give it some time and you can always try them later on, but if I were you, I would just wear pads!. They're so much easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it hurts to put it in, you hymen's most likely not broken!. I was the same way, but your body does hold the tampon in place so it shouldn't ever get lost!. My problem was just the pain and it took me years until i was first intimate with my boyfriend for my hymen to break enough to where it wouldn't hurt and I didn't fear it anymore!.

My suggestion would be to talk to your mom and have her buy tampax pearl or sport!. They have a plastic covering instead of cardboard so it should be easier!. You may want to also start of using the "light" tampons, which are a lot smaller!. I know this is gross, but if you don't wipe away all of the blood near the opening it'll be a lot easier to get in!. Once you do it a few times, the pain will go away and they're so much easier than pads!

good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It wont get stuck, I have even had two up there when I forgot I already had 1 in and had not taken the other out and instead of pushing the first one right up it sat beside it and I had two strings coming out they are designed this way for safety, When I first started I used pads but you smell quite a bit down below and I didnt like that so I began using the very small tampons which you get for starters and then I just worked my way up to the flow I needed, Give it a chance because they are much more hygenic and you can still go swimming! But if they do not suit you stick with pads, But do give them a try!.
Good luck xxWww@Answer-Health@Com

its not gonna get stuck!. ive had some bad experiences but they always end up coming out after a warm bath!. the key is to relax when youre putting it in or taking it out!. also, when i first started using them i started out with tampax pearl light tampons!. theyre much thinner than the regular kind and go in easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not compulsory to wear tampons, and please don't feel pressurized to just because you believe others are doing it!.

I chose not to wear them and have got on fine with pads all my adult life!.

Never do anything out of a feeling that you have to fit in!. Many girls don't wear them!.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with using pads!. You people act like you only use them at first and "move on" to tampons!. Tampons are gross and can actually lead to shock if you leave them in too long!. I have always used pads and always will!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lol!.!.!.its wont get stuck stick with pads its the safest:) and it hurts cause your not use to it i tried using them before but they just felt really uncomfortable so i stick with pads:) and btw im 14:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont use them if ur afraid of them!. i got my period when i was twelev and didnt use them till i was fourteen!. its totally ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just use pads if you are not confortable with tampons!.
I'm 18 and i still use pads!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just use pads till your more comfortable with your body :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I started my period when I was 12!. ( I'm 22 now) anyways I was terrified of using them because first time I tried it hurt!. this might be too much information but I went and got the slim fit tampons there a little over the size of a pencil super thin and have an easy applicator!. Also try finding the best position for putting them in!. putting tampons in is never going to be "comfy" but when you get them in right they really are great you dont have that " oh boy I hope my pad is still working" feeling!. I was afraid of TSS (toxic shock syndrome) and all that!. but tampons are safe especially good for bathing suits and times when your really active!. I loved the smaller tampons they even come scented lol!. It took me 4 tampons even with the smaller ones to get it right if you don't get them in far enough it's really going to be uncomfortable, It's a myth they can get lost inside of you, or go to deep!. Your cervix so small nothing is going to get through!. Make sure you change your tampon every 5-8 hours depending on your flow, and take your time putting it in, don't force it!. Eventually you'll get tampons in in 5 seconds it just takes some work in the beginning!. I had a baby 8 months ago and I don't use tampons I just don't like them I think pads are more comfortable,( occasionally i use tampons and i still use the thin ones) but they can be very comfy if you get the thin ones!. GL sometimes it sucks being a girl!. ;) by the way it says on the box "perfect for teenagers" EDIT: putting in a tampon will not break your hymen!. in a rare case maybe but they are not designed that way especially if you use the small ones!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
