Do you HAVE to get a pelvic exam and Pap test to get birth control?!

Question: Do you HAVE to get a pelvic exam and Pap test to get birth control!?
me and my g/f want to get sexually active!. We are both over 18 and new to sex and we want to get birth control as a second protection in case the condom brakes or something goes wrong!. The problem is that her parents cant find out, and she is shy and doesn't want to have the exams done at Plan Parenthood!. Is there a way to get them through her family doctor w!.o her parents finding out, or to get it at PP w!.o the exams!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first time i went to planned parenthood they gave me the option to get the pills with or without the other tests, its up to her!. Or she could just ask her doctor to prescribe her the pills without the other tests, and make sure she lets the doctor know that her parents can't know about it!. Its always good to get the pelvic exam but since he hasn't been sexually active (right!?) i don't think its necessary!. Later on she should get checked though! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Everything should be confidential anyways between her and her family doctor!. I dont think its mandatory to have a PAP and pelvic exam to get birth control, but I would suggest it!. I was terrified my first time to, very uncomfortable, but she just has to remember that the doctor has seen probably way way worse than her!.!.!. lol!. Hope that helped! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok its actually her choice if she wants the exam or not!.
when i got on birth control they were gettin ready to do the exam and i was like "wait!. do you HAAAVE to do the pap smear!?" and she was like no we dont have to its up to u!. and i told em i didnt want it done!. so they just gave me the pill and told me what to do!. so no u dont always have to get an examWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tell your g/f to tell her doctor she has bad cramps and she might give her birth control for it and it will still help prevent pregnancy!. Beyond that i don't think you can do any thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most doctors will prescribe birth control without an exam, however after a year of it she must get an exam, because some birth controls can lead to cancer and the only way of knowing is to get an exam, i've been on my birth control for 7 months and im very shy and personal about my body, so i understand not wanting to get the exam, but it is a must for your own protection, you dont want to die of cancer because you were too shy to be lookd at!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
