Do you think i could have my sterilisation reversed?!

Question: Do you think i could have my sterilisation reversed!?
hi 4 years ago i had to be sterilised as my now ex husband wouldn't and we were advised that one of us should as we have a fault between our genes and this caused our youngest son to have neurofibromatosis anyway i ended up having it done but after this we split up i just didn't respect him anymore and he was up to all sorts i!.e drugs and things however i've been with my partner over 2 years and i've started to want another child so does he,i just wondered before embarrassing myself at the doctors if you think i will be able to get it done on the nhs!? i work full time and my other 2 children are very well looked after i'm also only 31 so i feel a bit cheated by the fact i was sterilised and my ex who is 50 wasn't because he didn't want to be messed about with he saidWww@Answer-Health@Com

What a selfish bastard your ex is!? Sorry but!.!.

The above two answers are quite wrong, and people should really avoid giving medical answers if they do not know the facts!. This operation IS possible and it can be done on the NHS as well as privately!. Your best option is to see if the Dr who did the original sterilisation can do the reversal,- success really depends on the method that was used for your sterilising!. Sometimes clips are used, or cutting/removing part of the tube or tying the Fallopian tubes together!.

If the clips were used, then the reversal is very likely to be successful!. Even if the tubes were cut or tied, microsurgical techniques are now very successful!. Success rates vary from between 65 and 95 per cent!. Only if the tubes are very damaged would there be a problem- this is actually not that common!.

You will need to see a Gynaecologist who will need to have a look at your tubes with a laparoscope, he will then be able to give you an idea of the success rates!. Have a chat with your GP, he should refer you!. The only downside of having it done on the NHS, is that there may be a long waiting list!.

sterilization is almost impossible to reverse!. i have heard it can be done on women, but the chances of you getting pregnant would be nothing short of a miracle!.

so basically, what im trying to say is that you will probably not have any kids!. especially since it has been 4 years!. its better to just accept the fact that you can no longer have kids and possibly look for a surrogate than to spend so much money reversing a procedure that is described as being permanent birth control!.

sorry dear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As far as I know female sterilisation can't be reversed, that is why they suggest freezing the eggs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
