My friend is getting her first gyne appointment next week and she's freaking out because she's not a virgin and doesn't want her mom to find out!. Will the gynecologist tell her mom that she isn't one!? What should I tell her!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

That happened to my friend!. She told me that the doctor asked her if her mom knew she wasn't a virgin and my friend said no and the doctor said ok and didn't tell!. So i don't think the doctor would put out her confidentiality!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Sometimes the GYN only ask about virginity because they want to know which speculum would be most appropriate for examination!. They usually wont say anything to your parents!. Besides they really cant say anything because there are many reasons why her hymen could have broke (horseback riding, gymnastics) its only necessary to ask in that case if she were to have contracted an STD and something showed up abnormal during the pap smear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Her hymen will be torn and the doctor will be able to notice this, but the hymen can tear for many other reasons besides having sex!. So the doctor will be unable to know she has had sex!. Also, the doctor will not tell her mother if her hymen is torn or not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The Gynecologist would be breaking patient / Dr!. confidentiality if he tells her mom!. Tell your friend this!. If she is having sex, then she should have a full gynecologic exam!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
