Question: On the Pill for a year, do i need to use a condom!?
I've been on the pill for a year, never missed a day
Ive been dating my boyfriend for two years and he's coming to visit me at college in two weeks, and we've planned on having sex for the first time when he visits!. I have a good friend who got pregnant (admittedly while using zero birth control) and i really REALLY cannot afford to get pregnant at this point!.
Should i also have him use a condom!? Or will just the pill be enough!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't need a condom for birth control as such but unprotected sex isn't a habit you want to get into!. Make it a rule no condom no play till you find someone you want to settle down with!. Safe sex is the only sex to have till then!. Getting pregnant is only one of the down sides of unprotected sex, there are a lot more STD's you want to worry about that birth control wont keep you safe from!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
technically, if you've taken the pill at the same time everyday for the past year, you should be protected!. however, there are things that could decrease its effectiveness (for example, taking antibiotics)!. if you're really worried about the chance of pregnancy, i would use a backup just in case!. it will put your mind at ease, too!. always remember there's still that slight chance of pregnancy while taking birth control, and you and your boyfriend need to decide if you're willing to take that chance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
the pill is good, (me and my partner solely relied on it as contreception for year and a half and i didnt get pregnant, its up to you though chick, condoms will protect you from STD's ect as well, maybe if its your 1st time you will be able to relax more if your using one!? good luck xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
If you have never missed day, take them at the same time every day, and you are not on any antibiotics then you are safe, and you don't need to use a condom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A condom is always a good idea!. Birth control pills are not 100% effective and STDs are something to consider!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
