How important is it exactly, what time of the month you start taking the pill?!

Question: How important is it exactly, what time of the month you start taking the pill!?
I've JUST noticed my mistake!. I miss read the inscructions that came with the pill I'm taking!.
It says you're meant to start taking it on the first day of your period, but I took it the first day I had finished, and have been doing so now for 2 weeks!.

Would this be a problem you reckon!.!.!.!?
Should I stop taking it and start again for next time, or just carry on!?!?!?

Thank you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just carry on taking the pill!. The problem with taking the pill at the end of your period if your periods are particularly short, is that you may not be immediately protected!. So I would continue to take the pill but use another method such as condoms as well for the first 7 days of pill taking!.

You do NOT need to stop taking it as the user above states - just continue to take it as normal!. If you really are worried you could always use condoms till your next period to make sure, but the first 7 days is what is advised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are two reasons why you are advised to start the pill on day one of your period!. The first is to ensure that you are not pregnant and the second reason is starting the pill on day one of your period gives you immediate contraceptive cover!.

If you start the pill anywhere else in your cycle, you must take the pill for a full 7 days before you have contraceptive cover- hopefully you did so!.

There shouldn't be any problem, just carry on taking the pill and have your 7 day break and the end of the 21 day pack!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're supposed to start taking it Sunday after you start your period!. It will be okay, you'll probably still have your period as usual, because it takes 2-3 months for your period to get in sync with the pills!. I'm on the pill (7yrs) and I have my period on every Thursday on the last week!.
If you stop taking the pills now to do over, you're going to have an early period!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nah it should be okay!. Just keep taking it!. I think the only difference is that it'll take longer to become effective if started not on the first day of the period (after 2 weeks it should be working though, check your pill leaflet but if you've used condoms until now you'll be fine), and there's a greater risk of spotting mid-cycle, but if you haven't had that then all good!.
