Question: Going on Birth control worth it!?
My period is always late! last time i got it was um maybe October then again in november and hasn't got it! me and m mom are considering it! is it worth it!? i always hear it helps skin!. how much!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would not recommend going on birth control for irregularity!. If you have a condition where you need it such as ovarian cysts or abnormal bleeding, then I guess you have to!. But the side effects, in my opinion, far outweigh the benefits!. I'm copying and pasting another answer that I gave just because I think I summed my experience up quite well!.
Within two weeks I started gaining weight!. I went up 10lbs, and it ALL showed in my stomach and I gained love handles (which I never had before)!. I was bloated ALL the time (birth control causes water retention)!. Yes, my boobs did get bigger, but for about 3-4 months they were extremely sore!.
My emotional state was a mess!. I was crying all the time for no reason, or extremely upset and angry very suddenly!. I did NOT feel like myself at all!. I wanted to eat all the time, and no matter how much I dieted or exercised, my weight would not drop!.
As far as muscles go, I did not have much to start with so I do not know!. But I do remember going up stairs a lot and becoming dizzy, even though I did exercise frequent enough!.
My hair did not thin, but I did a lot of research on birth control and some common side effects are hair loss!.
The only benefit I got out of it was clear skin, but I had moderately clear skin when I started!.
I am 17 years old if that helps!.

Just to let you know, having an irregular period is kinda normal!. I have a very irregular period (once every 3 months and then 2 a month) and we went to the doctor about this and she said that is was comlpetely normal!. since i got my period out of the average age range, it will be irregular for the next 2 years or so- so i dont think birth conrol is necessary!.!.!. that depends how long youve have your period though!. you should talk to your doctor about it!.

Did you not too long ago start your period!? If so that could be the reason that you're so irregular & it will straighten out overtime!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
