Answers:
most places won't pierce a belly button with anything less than a 14 (some may use a 16, but that's even a little rare) I got my belly button done several years ago with a 14 and my best advice is to have someone to hold your hand (if your concentrating on something else, its not so bad) also take some tylenol or something a couple hours before you go!. Ive never done that with any of my piercings or tattoos but my mother in law does it for all of hers and she swears it works!.!.!.(something mild though, nothing strong) they do make numbing creams but i don't know how expensive the are though!.
how they did mine:
cleaned with a wipe
rubbed iodine on it
clamped it with the clamps
put the needle through
put the ring in the needle half way (while it was still in my belly button)
pulled the needle out and the ring went in really smoothly
i also wanted to say, if this is your first major piercing then i would recommend going to someone who has done it for a loooong time- i have a good friend who is getting into the piercing and tattoo business and he gauged my ears for me (just to an 8) and i hate to say it, but he was horrible because he was so nervous!. so do your research and make sure its someone with a lot of experience and of course that they are clean! if you have any other questions about anything like this, i would be more than happy to answer them- email me at why3188@yahoo!.comWww@Answer-Health@Com

It is over quick!. Anyway, if they used a finer needle that would mean having to put in a fine gauge ring!. And that would mean it would grow out almost certainly!. A belly button piercing is at a good chance for growing out anyway, and certainly does when someone uses a fine needle!. By they way, if you don't know, all surface to surface piercings such as eyebrows and belly buttons have a tendency to grow out, meaning that the jewelry will make its way to the surface of the skin, then the skin kind of splits and you lose the piercing entirely, followed by a nasty scar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The smaller the needle the more chances of the jewelery ripping out, which would hurt a lot more than getting it pierced with a larger needle!.

Also the needle is so sharp that it doesn't hurt as bad as you think it will!. Bringing a friend along to distract you and hold your hand is a good way to try and get passed the pain!.

I haven't had my belly button pierced but I have had my tongue, lip, nose, ear lobes x8, industrial, helix and nipples done!. Nipple are obviously more sensitive than a belly button!. They will most likely clean the area, clamp the fold of skin they will pierce and then they will push the needle through followed by the jewelery within a few seconds, and it'll feel like barely even a pinch, maybe a bit of heat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesn't hurt at all, not even a pinch!. Just don't look, or don't get it pierced!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
