It's possible!. Some women get huge amounts of exercise from intense training that they stop having periods!. It's a condition known as amenorrhea!. To maintain menstruating, women need a certain amount of calories, protein and body fat!. Stress, weight loss, intense training, and irregular periods can make a woman more likely to stop having periods!.

It's a warning from your body that there's too much energy drain!. The body stops menstruating almost as a protective factor to guard against pregnancy during a time of physical/mental stress on the body!.

Women active in all types of sports - from aerobics to Weight lifting, soccer to swimming - have been found to have a higher prevalence of amenorrhea than non athletes!. This condition is known as exercise-associated amenorrhea, or EAA!.

I do cross country training and have missed my periods a lot too!. It might be useful to talk to your coach about it, to see if there are any solutions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, when you exercise after not exercising like that before, it can cause your hormones to go out of whack, which makes you either late, or miss it completely!.

Happens to me sometimes, i wouldn't worry about it!. If you do get worried though, you can always go to your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have heard athletes tend to have a lighter cycle!.

if youre "sexually active" you should probably take a pregnancy test just in case!.
a week or two overdue is a little strange!.!.

but try not to stress or worry!.
just do the pregnancy test (if necessary) !.!. and see how that comes out!.

if its negative!.!. give your doctor a call

hope all is well!
