Congrats! It sure does sound like it was your first period.

Not everyone experiences bright red bleeding the first few times they have their period. Some people do have red blood, others experience dark brown smears or dark brown discharge. Others yet again have a light pink staining.

It takes the body a little while to get adjusted to puberty, and every one responds differently. You may not get another period for a few more months, or you might be as regular as clockwork.

Do get a calendar and circle the dates this brown discharge started, and circle every day you had it for. When it happens again, do the same thing. This way, you will start to see a pattern eventually, and you will know when it is next going to happen.

Congratulations on ur first period welcome to women hood. n not always u will get ur first period when ur mom got hers i know i didn't. u should go n buy some pads n tampons n maybe some panty liners
