What is a period? How do I tell my mom I got it?!

Question: What is a period? How do I tell my mom I got it?
I think I started my period... or so someone said to me onmy last question... How do I tell my mom? What is a period? I feel so stupid:(

Answers:

Your period is your uterus lining shedding. Every month the uterus wall gets thicker, as it prepares for the egg to drop. If the egg is not fertilized, then the egg is dropped, and the uterus lining sheds.

I know you probably feel uncomfortable or nervous telling your mom, but the best thing to do is not think about it so much and just tell her. If you really don't want to say it, you could write her a note or something.

If you have questions, you can ask your mom too. She's a girl and she gets periods too, and has for a while so she will know about them. Every girl gets their period, and a lot of people find it uncomfortable to talk about periods, but it's normal, so just try not to worry :)

Don't feel stupid! There's new things going on with your body and it can be confusing.

a period is when your uterus gets rid of the egg that is attached to blood and tissue on the uterine wall. This blood and tissue is flushed out of your vagina and it may cause cramps, back pain, headaches, bloating, and mood changes. It's not something your mom will be mad at you for or concerned. If you have blood coming out, then you definitely started your period. It's completely normal. Just yell from the bathroom "mommm.. can you get me a pad?" I would say not to try tampons until you are completely comfortable with the fact that you started. Tampons are more comfortable if you push them in all the way because you can't feel them and you can't feel the "ooze". Good luck :)

Don't feel stupid !
A period isn't really a big deal.
I just got my period last year and i called my mom during school to tell her through the phone, we both knew it was a natural thing between girls that are growing, and its NOTHING to be ashamed about, especially to your mother, because she has it, and she knows you will also.
A period is blood that comes from the vagina ( ew i know it sounds gross)
It happens every month because if you didnt have sex to make a baby, the body has to clean out the egg cell(s) that were in your body.
There you go :)
Good luck gurly !

A period is your monthly bleeding because the uterine lining is being shed. Its NORMAL for you to get your period. Just tell your mom you need to talk to her about something. Say something like "I feel scared to talk to you about this because I'm nervous and unsure, but I think I got my period." She'll understand :)

You're "period" is a menstral cycle, bleeding from your vagina. Every woman gets it. It's nothing to be frightened about. You should just tell your mom you have something serious to talk to her about because I know how awkward it can be when you first get it.

Your mother will understand so just talk to her about it. I'm sure that she will help you and comfort you. Don't be scared.

been there, done that.

Don't feel stupid hun! Your period is your menstrual cycle, and it happens when you release eggs, and the blood is from the lining in your uterus.

Go up to your mum and say "I think I have my period, what do I do?". It's that simple.

If you want way too much information, read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstruatio…

One you need to tell your mom just say, "I need tampons/pads"
