Can surgery cause your period to be irregular?!

Question: Can surgery cause your period to be irregular?
I had a baby in March and my periods seemed to be on track afterwards. Then at the end of December i got my galbladder taken out. It seems like since then ive gotten my period every 3 weeks. Could the surgery cause this?

Absolutely ! Surgery has also made my curly hair straighter. Actually it is the anesthesia, the strong medication, that upsets the body's balance & hormones.

I would go back to the doc and tell him about this. Yes, surgery can do strange things to your body due to stress and all (had over 40 in my life but who's counting LOL) but doc would know best. Time your periods - first day and how much, second day how much etc. until you can get an appt. If you can get appt. right away, good. If not, keep a record.

alot of pain meds cause this. its normal. After one of my surgeries i was on vicodin and not having sex and my cycle stopped till i stopped the meds..... check with the dr. he knows best
