Any tips for menstrual first timers?!

Question: Any tips for menstrual first timers?
Many sources tell me that I should be getting my first period soon. What brands or remedies would you prefer and what things should I do to keep myself from having so much pain? Ps: all my past generations of women in my family had heavy flows so I most likely will have a heavy flow.

Well, your first time will be light. To avoid cramps, i make sure I eat a nutritious, well balanced diet, drink lots of water and exercise regularly. All of those things help a lot. I do not use medication anymore, but ibuprofen or Midol work just fine. Heavy flow sometimes has to do with anemia, you should ask your family if there is any history of anemia. If there is, I would take iron supplements. It will help lighten the flow. If there is no history, I'd still try the iron supplement to see how it affected me, it cant hurt you, just make sure you take the appropriate dosage. Good luck!

for cramps if they're severe take painkillers but usually moving around and doing your regular routine rids them, also remember when the time of the month comes change your pads/tampon regularly, usually every 4 hours

Tampax pearl (super or extra) and get Advil for the pain which there is usually little to none.

you should go to doctor immediately.
