Not hot flashes I have been menopausal for 2 yrs. and had hot flashs.?!

episodes of prickly , burning from the inside out and turn bright red, over my whole body ,even my eyes, it can last 3 hrs. my hands feet and face can swell and when it starts to subside I become extremely itchy. when that stops I become very cold and exhausted. I told my doctor about it because it is frighting and she said it sounds like a hot flash. I said it is nothing like a hot flash. She said what ever it is it is not dangerous. It is still frightening and certainly affects my quality of life while it happens. I just want to know if it is possibly hot flashes like I have never had before or if it could be something else.
Has anyone had the same experience.
