i need birth control help?!

I am taking ortho tricyclen lo. I have been taking it for a few months. I am so incredibly confused right now. The doctor said something doesnt match up with when i started ny pills and when my periods were. I am so confused! I got more pills today, instead of finishing my pack should i start on the sunday after my period starts? Just to start over fresh? Ugh.. i really dislike that lady, she isnt a very friendly person.. im nervous enough as it is, and her unhelpful attitude doesnt make me feel any more comfortable.. :(
