can you use baby oil as a personal lubricant?!

Question: Can you use baby oil as a personal lubricant?
Is baby oil safe to use for vaginal penetration or will it cause discomfort?

Answers:

No! Please don't use oil or oil-based products as a lubricant!

Oil based lubes are a bad idea! Using oil in your vagina can increase the risk of infection. It can also deteriorate condoms - if you are using a regular condom, a female condom, or a diaphragm, oil-based lube is an especially bad idea! The latex (or similar non-latex material) can break. No one wants to deal with a broken condom!

If you want to use a lubricant, there are many inexpensive options. KY Jelly is widely known and available at most drug stores and even grocery stores now. There are also LOTS of other brands of safe, water-based personal lubricants. You can buy many discretely at your corner drug store.

If you can afford to spend just a little more, there are some really nice products available online or in stores. For a non-scary shopping experience, look for a shop with erotic toys and entertainment that is geared toward female customers. I don't know where you live, but Good Vibrations is a chain of stores with a website that is woman-friendly, informative, and safe.

Good luck, and be safe!

I'd probably steer clear of using that as a lubricant and buy something specifically for that purpose.

Baby oil is messy as well!
