Is your immune system weaker when you are on your period?!

Question: Is your immune system weaker when you are on your period?
I'm just curious. It seems like the only time I ever get sick I am on my period. And I don't mean like throwing up from bad cramps or anything, I mean like colds and stuff.

Answers:

Apparently your immune system is typically at its weakest during the luteal phase of your cycle, between ovulation and menstruation. Which might explain why you get sick then, the germs set in when you're weak, and by the time your period arrives you're showing symptoms. It's not clear whether this has to do with something in your bodily rhythms, or outside factors that coincide with your cycle. In other words, it may be something like a downswing from your immune high before ovulation, or it may be that having symptoms of PMS increases stress, and therefore lowers your immune response.

Yes that is actually proven, I'm not really sure why though but I tend to only get sick then too
