Questions about my period?!

Question: Questions about my period?
Ok so I am 14 and the last one in my group of friends to start their period. Yesterday i noticed not brown discharge but like an explosion of brown stuff it looked like brown blood. I know because i was with my best friend when she started. It was much more then what she had! I have worn a pad constantly for 2 days and nothing..I had super bad cramps for like a day and major mood swings. I have no idea what is wrong. And..i know this is going to sound really gross but i looked at my vagina, with a mirror and it was like white...and i researched the vagina and got this thing called a hymen and i think i might have that. like half of my vagina is open and the other half isn't its like half open and i think i might have a hymen! If i do then i will have to get it surgically removed...My doctor has never said anything about me having a hymen but i just don't know...
so my question is:
Am I about to start my period?
Am I just spotting if so what the crap is spotting? lol
So I have hymen disease or whatever that is?

Answers:

Ok so It sounds like u just got your first period, but your first time can be really strange so u might have only had it for one day which isnt totally uncommon. And yes, that is your hymen and u have only broken it halfway but dint try to mess wig it bc it will break itself on it's own. Just let your body do it's job and don go putting your fingers in there cause thats just nasty. Good luck hon!

Experience

Sweetie, every woman has a hymen. It's basically a thin membrane that covers your vagina. It's not a disease. People break it through physical activity, sex and tampon usage.

It sounds like you started your period. It is just irregular, coming and going.
