Question: About my wife - biopsy of her endometrial curettings report is as under.?
"PROLIFERATIVE ENDOMETRIUM WITH CYSTOGLANDULAR CHANGES". She was nearing menopause and was on heavy and prolonged bleeding; hence consulted. She is 54 years. What is the safest and best treatment.

Answers:

She's basically looking a getting a hysterectomy in the future. Not abnormal for this type of diagnosis. Basically the definition of the above is that her uterus lining has changes and the cells from the uterus are showing their age. This pathology report finding is nothing abnormal for a menopausal woman. The first thing that the OBGYN doctor might want to do is an ablation or "burning" of the inside of the uterus. This essentially kills off the first layer of uterine wall and allows it to slough off (fall off) over a period of a few weeks. If the bleeding continues then a hysterectomy is usually indicated. Nowadays hysterectomies are fairly quick procedures (about 1 hr in length) and are fairly common place. this will be the decision of your wife and the OBGYN to make. And getting a second opinion when surgery is indicated is always a good idea. Hope this helps a little and good luck with everything

The best treatment is Total Abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salphingo-oopharectomy. Some consider Wertheim's hysterectomy. Or Can be treated with progestrogen and or radiotherapy. (Vault radiotherapy).

go to your OB theres a lot of pill to help your wife to overcome all of it

my opinion

Ask her gyno. We are not doctors. Get a second opinion too.

Best wishes.
