Whats wrong with my period?I had sex and next day I see stringy old brown blood.!

Question: Whats wrong with my period?I had sex and next day I see stringy old brown blood.I am so worried. Please help me?
Here's what happened. I had not had sex for 4-5 months. I was in India and came to US last week. I was cleaning my apartment all day and feeling very tired and stressed as well about something. I was on my feet almost all day cleaning cooking etc. Then day before yesterday I had sex with husband and when I went to pee later it hurt a little to touch the area with tissue.I thought nothing because maybe it was vigourous. The next day afternoon again did lot of cleaning and saw brown stringy blood in the toilet and then a little on the pad and every time I wiped yesterday.
Now today pad is clean but I went to pee and wiped and saw some brownish blood(not dried)
I am ALWAYS regular and have period on the dot every 24th so this is happening one week earlier.
I do feel some cramps. My normal periods usually start bright red and last only 4 days or so.

I am so stressed. I didnt get an appointment till until next week and till then I will go crazy researching this. Please help me.

Thanks

Hi - you have given the key word several times here; it is 'stress'.

Stress is THE key factor (after pregnancy, of course) why a woman's period can arrive early or late, or even not at all.

It is also feasible that you have some very minor vaginal abrasions from having sex, as you have not had sex with your hubby for quite a while. Perhaps you need to buy a tube of lube; nothing to be ashamed of there, this is a common and minor problem.

I do think this is your period, though. Arriving slightly early, caused by stress, perhaps by a long flight from India to the States, and a few other factors as well. Your body is out of sync, and has probably shown this by producing menstruation.

Try not to worry. Relax, eat well, sleep properly, and I suspect your period will flow properly.

Good luck.
