Should blood in urine disappear with antibiotics?!

Question: Should blood in urine disappear with antibiotics?
I have endometriosis (rather large ovarian cyst). Ive been on lupron for 6 months so I haven't had a period. 4 weeks ago I started spotting. I assumed it was my menstrual cycle. I found out that it was blood in my urine. No kidney stone --- they have me on Macrobid (4 days now) -- there is still blood in my urine. Im a little concerned. Is this a normal thing for a severe UTI? Any thoughts would be helpful.

Answers:

I think you should call your doctor ASAP and ask about this.

Whenever I have a UTI, antibiotics generally seem to make it better within 2-3 days. I've only experienced blood in my urine once, and Macrobid knocked it out within 2 days. Depending on just how severe your infection is, it could be possible that the antibiotics might take a bit longer to begin working, but I think it's worth calling your doctor.

The thing is, sometimes one antibiotic won't work to cure your UTI. Macrobid will help the majority of infections, but sometimes a different type of bacteria is involved, so a different antibiotic must be used.

I agree call your doctor, bleeding is a reason to talk to the doctor. Don't panic though
