hi i had the iud for a little over 7 months at first it was great but the cramping is unbearable and my period can last up to two or more weeks at a time. I hae suffered from bad abdominal pain and sickness all day and every time it eases it starts back up again after 30Min's. i was just wondering if anyone had also suffered the same symptoms and what they did to ease it.

I had exactly the same symptoms with the Mirena coil for 8 months, so bad that I used to faint a lot. In the end it was so unbearable that I had it taken out. The relief was immense. This I.U.D does not suit you. I would have it removed and find an alternative method of protection. If you are suffering from heavy periods, try NORITHISTERONE .. it is a high hormone pill which stops your periods totally. Have a word with your GP ...
