Why does it hurt so much for me to go braless?!

Question: Why does it hurt so much for me to go braless?
I'm a 36B & when I go braless it HURTS. I always thought that this happened to women with larger breasts. My friend that's a 34B says that it doesn't hurt at all for her. May I ask... WTF. It sucks cause I have some really cute shirts that require me to go braless but it hurts. Ugh.

That's strange... you're right, it definitely shouldn't 'hurt' - I'm assuming you don't mean it just irritates your nipples from movement against your shirt - in that case just get some pasties/nipple covers/petals and problem solved.

The only thing I can imagine is that if you never go without a bra it could be that you're just not used to it, and the ligaments that support the breasts are weak through never requiring to work. There have also been studies of women who report breast pain (with a bra) who found that after a number of weeks of not wearing a bra their breasts were more comfortable - the explanation was that bras are tight around the body so restrict lymphatic flow - the lymphatic system drains toxins from bosy tissue. Without a bra the lack of restriction and increased movement improves the efficiency of the system, so improves tissue health. If either of these are a factor you will only know by experimenting - I would encourage you to try to keep the time you wear a bra for a few weeks to an absolute minimum, and see if things improve. There's no reason why breasts should hurt without a bra, and it's a shame you're missing out on your cute tops - there's zero risk that you're doing any damage even if it hurts a bit, so give it a go if you're feeling brave and see how you get on. Very best of luck! :)

Girlfriends from 32A to 34F... all of whom had no problems without a bra.
