My daughters Vagina lips keep swelling up?!

Question: My daughters Vagina lips keep swelling up?
She was very embarrassed to tell me at first but apparently only her left vagina lip was swelling up at first. Now both are and said she doesn't scratch or burn- nothing like that, its just swollen.
She sometimes feels like peeing when she actually doesn't need to go or after she does pee she still feels like she needs to. Which that isn't happening as much as it use to, but it was bothering her before.
My daughter Katie is 14 years old and turning 15 soon, as most of us know girls do masturbate around such ages so im thinking maybe if she is doing it, that it has something to do with the swelling if possible? and what should i buy or use to help her fix it.
I would like answers before i try anything, she really doesn't want to see a doctor its embarrassing enough for her to even tell me.
Thanks heaps ladies! or gentle men who know of this topic as well. xx
(Note: Katie is a virgin)

(You think Katie is a virgin) but she has the blue waffle

most likely she is masturbating with something that isn't meant to go in, such as the bottom of a hair brush. you should find out and have her stop. after that the swelling should go down. if that's not the case, you need to go see a doctor.

Doubtshesavirginthen.
go to a docter

me

For the peeing bit she might just have a bladder infection, and they are seriously a pain..

(Note: Katie is a virgin) <==== Cool

You should google "swelling of the labia" and see what you search comes up with..Dare I say it but your daughter might be better off seeing a doctor..I can understand that may be embarrassing for her but this could be serious you just never know..it's better to be safe than sorry so I do suggest that you sit down and talk with her and let her know that you'll be there and that she's got your support and that it's for her benefit to go and get her issues down there seen to...I can relate to her embarrassment so maybe if she does agree to go see the doctor after the visit you could give her a treat or something as I know those visits leave you feeling like crap..Best of luck :)

If she is not sore, itchy or in pain and there is no rash, then it's likely nothing to worry about.

It could be rough masturbation, or perhaps her lips are just very sensitive and swell up easily. Some girls get engorged lips much more readily than others.

Like someone else said, it might be an allergic reaction.
Whatever you do, don't start applying medication to that area for something like this, when it's probably something that'll go away by itself - if you remove the irritant.

A good thing would be to sit down with her and have a frank and non-judgmental talk about masturbation. You can use the swelling as an excuse to breach the subject.
Try and be open about yourself too and say that masturbation is completely natural.
Tell her that you'd like to help her masturbate safely by buying the necessary implements so that she can enjoy it worry free. Then you could buy her a silicone dildo since it's easy to clean and non-porous. It'll even go in the dishwasher :) A vibrating bullet is also an option. You could make it a mom-daughter moment and browse a site like http://www.goodvibes.com/ which is fairly clean cut.

Many moms aren't that cool, but you could be :) You might surprise your daughter, but hey - a bit of spice is a good thing. Having an open communication channel about masturbation at this point will also translate into being able to talk about sex later on. That way she can come to you for mature advice rather than her friends who are probably clueless.

Good luck!

With problems like this you need to see a doctor and put embarrassment aside! This is your childs well being and doctors are trained professionals, not giggly middle school boys and girls.

I would definitely set up an appointment, because you never know if there is an underlying cause beyond what you were looking for. My mom recently had a headache and on a hunch after a blood test her doc sent her in for more testing and found cancer. From a HEADACHE! She didn't even want to go because she thought it was just a migraine.

A yeast infection called Candida Albicans is most likely. Symptoms of a yeast infection can include swollen, red, tender, itching vaginal lips. Risk factors are many and include antibiotic use, stress, poor diet, sugars and alcohol. Yeast gets out of control when the bad bacteria overwhelm the good bacteria in the gut. Good product to take is probiotics. You may find probiotics alone will get rid of the problem. Other products to try out include anti fungals such as Pau D'Arco or Golden Seal (check your local health store). There is also the Candida Diet but it is very strict - no sugars or wheat! Try the easier options first.
