Question: I have this drug for an infection.....?
i have bacterial vaginosis and my doctor gave me a antibiotic called metronidazole. it says on there that breastfeeding is not recommended while using it. do they mean that the baby just shouldnt have my milk because im taking the antibiotc or will something happen if i pump my milk and just throw it away. can i still pump and just throw my milk away? thanks.

You can still pump and throw away. When they say breastfeeding the mean feeding the baby with your breast milk.

The reasons a lot of medications can't be taken while breastfeeding is because some of the medication gets into the breast milk and often has very harmful effects to the infant when the baby ingests it.
