Question about 11 year old?!

Question: Question about 11 year old?
Ok, so I'm an 11 year old girl, and I haven't had a checkup/exam for a long time. I'm talking like 5 years. I was wondering when I will get one again. Is it because I have type 1 diabetes and those appointments count? because i don't think so, because all that they do is test my blood pressure, height, weight, and listen to my heartbeat and feel my throat. I'm pretty much just asking when i will have another routine exam (not relating to my diabetes) and what will happen and people's experiences with full details. It would be really awesome if you can answer :)

Answers:

Just tell your parents that you think that you should go to the doctor sometime, since you haven't had a routine checkup in a while. Tell them you aren't feeling sick (unless you are, in some way), but that you just want to go because you are concerned about your overall well being.

You will get another routine exam when your parents call and schedule one.

and I don't have diabetes, but I generally, the nurse asks questions about my health, am i on any medications, do i do drugs etc, and the doctor comes in and inquires about my past exams (perhaps asking am i experiencing more swelling in my knees), Then any aches or pains or complaints that i do say i have will be investigated.

They will probably do a lot more since you haven't been to the doctor's in so long and because of your diabetes. Just tell your parents you NEED a checkup.

It is highly recommended by doctors that you go every year for your routine checkup, although it sounds like you have been skipping this for a few years. These checkups may seem pointless, but there is always the change that they will find something that will save your life.

you should get one every 6-8 months(optional) and every year before school but if your really worried talk to your school nurse and your parrents/ gardian aand m sure they'll take you

girl 5 years is a long time!!! go get yourself checked out!

just ask ur parents to go
