Ovarian Cyst - Symptoms? ?!

Question: Ovarian Cyst - Symptoms? ?
About four months ago, I began to experience period irregularities accompanied with this dull ache in my lower abdomen, and when pressure was applied it hurt horribly. The pain got worse and worse and then finally it was like something blew up! My mother, who is a nurse and has suffered from polycystic ovaries her entire life, felt of my right ovary and told me I had a cyst there that probably burst. Indeed it had. The pIain went away and everything went back to normal.

About four days ago, I began to experience lower back pain as well as localized pain over my right ovary again. I have missed my period so far this month, but I am NOT sexually active, so I know I CAN'T be pregnant. Well, I felt of the area around where the ovary is, and I could feel a large lump that hurt especially bad when pressure was applied. My mother confirmed that there was somethig about the size of a large egg on my right ovary, while my left one is fine. I walk around with my ride side feeling tense and heavy.

My question is, is it normal to have horrible back pain, period misses, and mild nausea with an ovarian cyst? My last one was quite similar, but it was much smaller and it ruptured. And what other symptoms should I look for? And can a lot of stress only help a cyst to form? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have polycystic ovaries, the symptoms are more awkward than anything.

The pain you are experiencing could be one of the cysts is on a stalk and twisting, also as stated above it coukd be a burst cyst, i get this pain round about the time of ovulation about a week before my period, it leaves me doubled in two :(

Symptoms:

Absent or irregular periods

Excess weight gain or trouble losing weight

Heirutism: excess hair growth, mist likely on, upper lip, chin, sideburns, tops if thighs, forearms, stomach, eye brows

Male pattern balding, i get this at either side of my head, jus makes u look like u have a large forehead really.

Pain during or after sex

Sleep apnea. Stopping and starting breathing during sleep.

Skin tags: little growths of skin usually around nape of neck or under arms.

Patchy discoloured (dark patches) skin around neck, thighs, under arms.

Infertility: alit of woman with pcis find it really hard to fall pregnant, the eggs in the ovary of someone with pcos dont mature fully therefore most of the time the egg cant be fertilized :(

Hope this has helped hun , you should fet to the docs and get it chevked out as pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) can cause other health probs so best treat it the best u can :)
