Maybe your really just late. I would give it awhile longer then take another pregnancy test. It could be a false negative but most likely not.
You have to take into consideration that the pregnancy test only reads it properly after a few weeks, so depending on when the conception was you won't be able to find out until some time in.
There's probably nothing to worry about, but if you still can't get a good reading after about 3 weeks, you should see a doctor.
There are several reasons for this, the main two are this:
1: High amounts of stress cause periods to be late or even skipped.
2: You had a false negative.
There are other reasons to why you are having a late period, but most likely it's one of those two reasons.
