Question: I'm back taking Yasminelle but it's been 9days since my period began and I'm still bleeding.....?
I was off the pill for 3 or 4months but just started taking it again about 9days ago. I took it when my period started like always and at 6days I was still bleeding. I usually stop around 5days. So it's day 9 now and i'm still spotting. Not all day, but at least once or twice a day i'll notice blood.

What could be going on? I've never had a problem before. If it's still going in a few days, i'll go to the doctor, but has anyone else had this happen before? Any ideas what it might be?

Thanks.

Hmm.. Since you were off it for a few months your body definitely had a lot of time to go back to it's natural rhythm, basically as though you never were on birth control at all. And doctor's often tell women that a common side effect during the first month that you start pills is spotting. So I very strongly believe that's all it is. I really wouldn't worry about it if I were you, especially if you started it on your period. I think your body is just getting used to the hormones again.

yes, birth control can often cause this. my first period after starting birth control was 13 days long, when it is normally only 4 days. this is nothing to worry about
