Question: What is a ultra sound to see if you have a cyst on ovaries like?
like do they stick something in you
does it hurt
how long does it take
do they make u take something that makes u pass out

Answers:

Most pelvic ultrasounds consist of two parts - first, the look on top of your belly with a full bladder to get a good overview of the uterus and ovaries. Next they let you empty your bladder and then use a transvaginal probe to look inside (it is the size of or smaller than a tampon and only goes in a couple of inches). This part provides much greater detail and more accurate measurements. It should only be uncomfortable at worst, but not painful. The first part only take between 5-10 minutes and the second part takes about 10 minutes. It's really not bad, we do them all the time.

They will look for these cysts by looking with an ultrasound machine by running it over your lower abdomen... but many times after that they do insert another part of the ultrasound machine into the vagina to get a closer look.... it doesn't hurt, just a little uncomfortable at certain angles. They don't give you anything to pass out... don't worry... it will be ok and is painless.

You will normally have to have a full bladder to lift urinary bladder away from the ovaries. When I had mine back in 2001, they actually filled my bladder with saline solution via a catheter. (Which was painless, by the way. Embarrassing, but painless.) Then they will either use a normal abdominal probe (like used on pregnant women) or a vaginal probe. The procedure is painless.

no not at all they put a gel on your stomach and just go over it with a machine the only thing that might make you uncomfortable is the gel being cold its just like ultra sounds they do for babies. dont worry about it you will be fine. and your not going to pass out
