getting my first bra?!

Question: Getting my first bra?
i am thinking about getting my first bra. i know i am not the first person in my class to get a bra (my best friend told me she has one.) and my mom is easy to talk to, so no problems there. the thing is, i feel kind of embarrassed talking about "that stuff". advice? something about measuring and how many layers to wear when measuring would be helpful. also, where could i get a good first bra?

go to Macy's they will measure you and pick a bunch of bras to try on. I recommend wearing a snug fitting t shirt so you can see how the bra looks under your clothes. have fun- good luck, nothing to be embarrassed about, we all have to buy our first bra at some point. it's actually fun to go bra shopping.

Congrats on the first bra!

Honestly, don't be worried about talking about this stuff with other females. As you grow older, begin high school, you'll realize that most girls talk about this stuff really openly. In your next few years, girls REALLY begin to mature...and we always talk about breasts, periods, and everything girly. It's part of being a girl!

Just bring it up with your mom. Just tell her you think it's about time you get your first bra! I guarantee she'll be helpful. Maybe tell her how you feel a little left out because your friend has one?

As for measuring, most bra places have people there to measure you. Just go right up and ask, don't be shy. This is part of their job, they are use to this. They will put a measuring tape under your bust and measure.

As for a place...try La Senza? Do you want a training bra, or not? La Senza may or may not sell what you are looking for, but you never know until you go their and ask!

Good luck! <3

If you want to be measured properly, go to Victoria's Secret. The staff there will measure you to make sure that you have the right size bra and can give you advice on what the best type of bra for your body/needs. The bras there are expensive, but are generally worth it. If you don't want to buy there, you can still go for the measurement, get the information and tell them you want to think it over before making a purchase.

Good luck!

if you mom is "easy to talk to," then ask her about it. But you can find a suitable training bra at basically any store, such as jcpenney, khols, and even stores like kmart and walmart. Just go there and try it on in the fitting room so that you know it fits, and try it on under your clothes to see if you like how it looks.

it's something you have to figure on your own or with your mom. hope i help:)

im a little confuzzled on the first part but where u can get a first bra? thats easy target. that's where i got my first bra. there's tons of training and btw the first bra size is 30a try that on. if it doesnt fit cup wise then get a 30b if it doent fit the other way then get a 32a. if u get a sports bra tho i think the first size is a 28 same fitting rulez.

When I got my first bra, I went to the store by myself (we lived in a very small town & I was allowed to walk to Wal-Mart with specific permission). I didn't want to take my friends or my mom with me, so I went alone! I just picked out a few bras and tried them on in the fitting room.

I grew out of them very quickly, so I think now I'd pick a spaghetti strap camisole that has a built bra. That might be the best things to try first until you get use to the tight strap feeling around your chest.
Once you get use to that feeling it's easier to pick out something that is comfortable for you. Don't spend a lot of money on your first bras because you probably will out grow them fast.

As far as measuring goes - may not be worth it for your first bras because you're growing, but if you want to get measured wear something like a very thin t-shirt. I know it might be embarrassing but the woman measuring you is a professional (or at least should be) and think of it kinda like being at the doctor's. Also be sure to take measurements with a full breath of air in your lungs and at a normal breath...especially if you're into sport or something you don't want it too tight that restricts breathing when you're running down the field.

Just know, a lot of women have been where you are right now...it's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. It's something to be proud of. Good luck with your journey into womanhood!
