Very bad smell after boyfriend ejaculates in me?!

Question: Very bad smell after boyfriend ejaculates in me?
I have only let two men do this, and both times this has happened. After I let my boyfriend ejaculate in me it smells horrrrrrrrrrrrid the next day, and I wash down there too, and even after I wash It takes about two days to get rid of the smell. I got some summers eve feminine wash to see if that helps tonight. It sucks because I really don't like to have sex with that smell, and I don't want him going down on me, so no morning sex lol. I saw where someone said it means you have bacterial vaginosis, that can't be right because the only two guys were a year apart, and ive had two pap smears since then and this past one I did have a yeast infection but thats been treated.

Bad vaginal odour can be a symptom of vaginal infections, but it can simply be a result of bacterial imbalance. Your vagina has an acidic pH, where as semen has an alkaline pH - your vagina cannot adjust straight away to this sudden pH change so it can throw-off the natural balance of bacteria which can cause odour and that odour can last a few days. Sex itself can alter vaginal pH too, when you orgasm your vaginal pH does drop, lubrication will also effect pH.

Some women find certain partners cause more problems because just as women's vagina's can have differing pH the same is true of different men and the pH of their semen - you may also have particularly acidic pH, at certain points in your cycle this may be more of an issue, also if your vaginal pH is already a little off-balance it may mean more chance of this happening.

Do NOT use products like Summers Eve.
Your vagina is self-cleaning, it doesn't need products like these and in fact such products are unhygienic because these are obviously alkaline so effect vaginal pH, they can also wash away or kill healthy bacteria, amongst other problems. Such products are made purely to make money out of women's paranoid and insecurity about their vaginal scent - don't buy into their marketing ploy.

Best thing to do is wash after sex with just water - only ever use water to wash with, no soaps, washes, wipes, or douching - if it is particularly bad then add a few drops of tea tree oil to the water to wash over your vulva; sit over the toilet and use a jug to pour water over your vulva. Make sure to dry well and then keep up good vaginal hygiene; cotton panties, no synthetic or tight clothing, no liners, avoid commercial pads and tampons like the plague, wash regularly, etc.

You may also have some luck seeing if you can change pH - tests your pH and test his, you can alter vaginal pH and semen pH by changing your diet slightly which may help, there are plenty of sites that discuss this because vaginal pH plays a part in TTC. I would also point out that your vaginal pH changes during your cycles, maybe during your least fertile days, when your vaginal pH is higher, use condoms to prevent his semen causing a problem with your vaginal pH.

The awful smell is from the mixture of his semen and your natural discharges....it is awful...only way to avoid it is to use a condom, then he can keep his stuff to himself. Otherwise..use the Summer's Eve...it will clean itout.

You can't keep avoiding sex because of the excess discharge and the fishy smell, as the lack of intimacy could drive you and your husband or boyfriend apart.

could be the combining of semen and vaginal fluid
that can bring out "the smell of sex"
