I can't get to sleep until about 1 or 2 am?!

Question: I can't get to sleep until about 1 or 2 am?
I sat in bed last night at about 11:45pm after staying up since 9pm, and I simply could not get to sleep. I tried everything, turning off the nightlight (I'm nytophobic, it REALLY has a HUGE effect on me) sitting there with my eyes closed, just sitting, but I could not get to sleep. It was about 2am when I managed to drop off. I have had thumping headaches in certain areas of my skull today, and feel quite full (maybe not as a result of the lack of sleep) and a little bit sickly. I am really tired, and according to Lucy S, a girl in my class 'grumpy all day'. I have also noticed my left armpit aching for some reason. Do you know what this is, and how to cure it?

P.S I am eleven years of age, and cannot take any pills.

You might have insomnia. Talk to a doctor about it.

If that's not the case, then this is what I go.
Pretend your body it being weighed down by 1,000 metal objects, and slowly; one by one, the metal is being lifted are you are being lifted onto a cloud. That cloud is taking you to (insert calming place).

That's what I do.

You're probably just tired. Try to avoid caffeine (like soda and chocolate) after about 2 in the afternoon and see if that helps. Also, exercise in the late afternoon and wake up early. If this doesn't help you might have insomnia, which tons of people have. But if this was just a one time thing, it happens. Nothing to worry about.

try to wake up early the next morning, and have some intense activity like sports...after a tired day, maybe you will fall asleep earlier, and you will be used to it.
