Questions about menstual cups?!

Question: Questions about menstual cups?
So im 14 and im thinking about using a menstrual cup but i just have a few questions.
1. Is it hard to insert? (i use tampons so i know how)
2. Does it feel wierd when it comes out?
3. When it comes out does blood go every where?

Answers:

I use a menstrual cup.

1. It is actually harder to insert than a tampon. There are a bunch of folds you can try. I tried one of the most popular folds for virgins when I first got mine, but then it was harder to make sure it was placed correctly, so I switched to a wider fold that makes me get it right every time, but was actually a little bit painful to use until I lost my virginity.
2. What do you mean? Does it feel weird when I take the cup out? Not really, depending on what you mean by "weird." It doesn't really have a feeling, I guess, but maybe I've just gotten used to it?
3. Sort of. It is a lot messier than a tampon, so I would not recommend it to girls who are afraid of their own bodies. When I take it out on the toilet, I get blood on my hand and blood in the toilet, obviously. When I wash it I get blood in the sink, too. The blood is easy to clean up, though. Just rinse it with some water and use some toilet paper to wipe it off. It's not like the bathroom looks like a murder scene. It is a bit inconvenient though, I admit. Since there isn't any associated risk of TSS with a cup, and I have a lighter flow, I only change it once every 24 hours or so. So I basically change it every time I get in the shower, and that actually helps reduce the mess a lot as long as you empty it right in the drain instead of from like five feet high.

There are a lot of pros and cons with menstrual cups. I'd say give it a try for a few cycles and see if it works for you. You have to be dedicated to the idea of them to get one to work well. It was worth it for me because I hated worrying about buying pads or tampons each month, and the cup does it all.

It takes a lot of practice. And it might (probably will be) weird/painful at first. The more you work at it, the better you'll get. Eventually everything will feel painless and mess free like a tampon. Just don't get discouraged.

Personally, I despise them. Getting them in isn't difficult, but getting them placed properly to avoid leakage is. Once you learn to use them properly, they're supposed to be great, but I don't know anyone that's had enough luck to actually get to that point.

I feel really sorry for ladies. I'm so glad I'm a guy and I don't have to deal with this. It must be awful to bleed like that once a month. Especially from such a sensitive area. God bless ya.
