Question: Is this something I should be concerned about? Maybe (I know you're not doctors) explain what it may be?
I have a question-so sorry if TMI-all of you know that I've not given birth recently or anything, but last night AF decided it was time to have her monthly visit, and it's been really really odd (compared to what's normal for me). It started a day or two earlier than normal. I'm on the birth control pill Yasmin (Never had ANY problems, always had normal periods that started on day 3-5 of my placebo pill, but typically day 4) and when she showed up,it was really REALLY heavy compared to how it normally is. Today,I'm passing (not actually 'passing" par se) but seeing thick clot type things (that are almost like jelly and are VERY VERY bright red) when I wipe, and it's still super heavy and it's very painful. Does anyone have any clue what this is,or is this just a normal visit from AF that's a bit heavier than normal?

Answers:

It sounds like you are shedding extra blood this month. Sometimes the uterous doesn't get rid of the excess every month, and so you get months like this from time to time. Don't worry about it, it's normal.

It's perfectly normal to experience an irregular period every once in a while. That's exactly what this sounds like. You have to remember that birth control pills are not magic, they're just hormones. Your body produces hormones of it's own naturally, and it's not uncommon for normal fluctuations to result in a simple irregular period.
