What do you do when a female student...?!

Question: What do you do when a female student...?
Or if you're the student, what would you want your teacher to do if

the student has their period and has cramps/leaks?

:)

Answers:

I would want to be able to give her "a look" and ask her if I may use the restroom(:

or I would be able to ask I need something and give her a look, then say my stomach hurts..

It's all about understanding the look (x

Hi there,
You should be able to leave and go to the nurses office. Possibly have a note written that explains you have bad periods and may need to leave the classes room suddenly. Have a Doctor write the note if they won't accept a parents. You should tell the teacher when you come into class that you may need to get up and go and then come back when you have the situation handled. If they won't work with you, you may need to stay home when your periods are really heavy.

Thanks,
Sue

Well, I want the teacher to let me go to the bathroom. Usually we're not allowed to during class. They say, "Why didn't you go between classes/during lunch?!" and I'm thinking, maybe because there wasn't blood soaking through my pants then, and I run from one end of the school to another?

Another thing, I really wish they'd let us go to the nurse for a quick painkiller. I get crippling period cramps, so bad I have to double over and whimper. Teachers barely let us out of class.

I'm in a very rigorous academic program, and I can't afford to stay home during my heavy flow days. I have a choice between suffering, or failing.

Quietly whisper to the student that they need to use the restroom right away to avoid embarrassment and make some adjustments. Once the students goes to the rest room they will discover for themselves and find the help they need.

I'd lend her tampons and pads and put a towel under her butt for the leaks. Tell all the class that she's menstruating. So no one thinks she's weird

Plug it up or take it elsewhere.
