If you were 11 that would have been 4 years, but anyway, it takes a different amount of time for everyone, if you're worried go and see your GP.
It's more about when you stop going through puberty than the amount of time you've had your period for. You're still developing so it could be abnormal for a couple more years. Also, some people have irregular periods their whole life, there isn't much you can do about it unless you want to go on birth control.
Some women never become regular on their own. You can talk with your mom and doctor about going on the birth control pill to help regulate your cycle.
you may just need birth control but its not absolutely necessary to have a period every month
