Question: Is this possible:Buya ticket to Denmark in August then take a train to Switzerland where I would go to college?

I'm an American, btw.
I don't know if this is legal....and I want to make sure before I plan my vacation (August 2012)

Of course you can buy a ticket to wherever you want to go. BUT - you will have a visa to go to Switzerland, I am sure. You should read the fine text on that visa, or even call the Swiss embassy with this question.

Some visas require that your FIRST stop is in the land of destination. If that is not the case you should have no trouble. You need no special visa to visit Denmark or anywhere in Europe.

Enjoy your trip, Denmark is wonderful and the train from there is great. It's a long ride so you should make a break somewhere to enjoy more of Germany than just seeing it through the windows on the way.
